MEETING STRANGERS IN THE JUNGLE

🌸This is one of those trips that I never forget. I was in 10th grade, and me and my mother went on a trip to Udawalawa with some of my classmates and their parents. We were on a safari there.

The first half hour was great. We were chatting and cracking jokes with each other, and at the same time we enjoyed the nature too. Then we stopped our jeep to watch a herd of elephants. There were at least 20 elephants under that huge tree. Our driver gave us a signal to stay quiet, so while watching, we spotted one elephant who was furious, and her eyes were red too, and then we realized that she's pregnant. Suddenly, she started running toward us. We were all freaked out and started screaming.😣Our driver tried to start the Jeep several times, but unfortunately it did not work at the time. These are the things that were running through my mind at the time. Okay, I’m doomed. This is the last day of my life. What will happen to my dad? I literally pray for God to save my life. 🙏

We were all crying and holding each other's hands. but we tried our best to stay calm at the same time. and we saw that our driver was shivering. And he tried to run away. Leaving us there, one of my friends' fathers saw that and grabbed his hand and yelled at him, saying "Start the Jeep!" After trying several times, we were able to start our Jeep. And then our driver flew like a jet. And the mother elephant followed us for a few seconds and gave up. 🙌

I still can't believe what happened that day; it was such a close encounter. I was scared to death. After that, we learned that our driver was new to that field. As you guys can see from my blog, this is the reason why this trip was an unforgettable one for me. After that incident happened, I was in shock for a while , but right now I think of it as a great experience. I think we all need that kind of adventure in our lives.💕
